My husband and I are custom building our home and are including a substantially sized wine cellar and we would similar to to know if such a room would be suitable to double as a cigar smoking room would the smoke be detrimental to the bottles of wine. Experienced or knowledgable family only please.
Answer:
Hi, we be told NOT to smoke around our wines, as the corks can absorb the smoke flavours, thus possibly shifting the tast of the wine. Good luck, and enjoy your subterranean vault!
the smoke should not interfear next to the wine because a basement have mold and other things in the upper air and they dont effect the wine
THE SMOKE WILL CUT DOWN ON THE AIR MOVEMENT, WHICH IN TURN WILL WARM THE ROOM... MAYBE A SEPARATOR OF SOME SORTS BETWEEN THE TWO COULD HELP... CIGAR ROOM FIRST THEN THE WINE ROOM. SOUNDS LIKE A COOL IDEA TO ME!
No way! The two should be separate & distinct. They both require different environments.
The perfect is the “cigar room.” Like the wine cellar, it’s specially constructed to conform to the correct heat and humidity requirements and can have storage for thousands of cigars . . . and the trouble-free chair, big-screen box and spirits and snacks bar to soak up them with. Just be sure your plan also includes a first-class drying plan.
A part of the overall fun of cigars is the riches of accessories available. The connoisseur will soak up the company of his or her favorite accents to the cigar experience, such as:
> Ashtrays;
> Cigar band and band diaries;
> Cigar books and periodical;
> Cigar boxes and jars, especially of vintage brands;
> Cigar sculpture (especially from Austin Sculptures);
> Decorative humidors;
> Historic or vintage matches and matchbox covers;
> Historic or vintage lighters;
> Smoking jacket;
> Vintage cigar ads, and

It would indeed injure your fine wines.
Cork is porous and eventually it would influence the flavor of your drink.
Don't do it.
