The dependable omelette.
my grandmas red velvet cake.
its hard take alot of time
and effort to draw from it perfect.
It depends on what you find difficult. The technique used (folding an omelet), a "subjective" recipe (like grilling a steak), the exactness needed in following the directions (including the right weather, approaching for fudge), the difficulty in finding the ingredients (Heck of a time finding banana leaves for my puerco pibil here within Missouri), or the frustration of a recipe that takes days to formulate.
As for something that meets adjectives that criteria, I'll have to expect.
But risotto is labor intensive, more technique than ingredient (although depending where you live, finding anything bar long grain white rice can be trouble, lol), but so tasty...
But I personally own the most trouble making pastries. Kill me with a brick...
i guess making the impeccable sugar pulling creation
I say it would be lasagne. It's a long process and it call for alot of ingredients, patients, and heat.
