What use is an egg-poacher?

I bought a lovely egg poacher for my freerange eggs, but the eggs stick to the cups, even when I coat them in olive grease.
When I poach eggs in a saucepan of dampen, nothing sticks, I don't have need of oil, or fatty spread, and there's smaller number to wash up.
So what use is a egg-poacher?

Answer:
Not much use to you since you successfully "poach" eggs. An "egg poacher" in reality "steams" eggs in a cup a bit than "poaches" them.
For some people it is easier to direct than actually poaching an egg. Sometimes it is adjectives when you need to serve 6 eggs adjectives at once. It seems strange that the egg would stick after oiling it, try buttering the egg cup when cold and up to that time adding the egg to it, perchance that would work better than oil.
Beats me , i'v always in recent times done them in the container !!
Try a small amount of butter....I own one and they never stick....but if you never had a problem within the first place what did you buy one for?? If it aain't broke dont fix it.
Use a moment or two butter rather than grease, it seems to work better.
About as much as a chocolate fireguard. Use Mr Kipling cake tins instead.
they are rubbish. Have you tried the one for the microwave they are the business
Use unsalted butter to grease them, it only make them look nice, you DO eat very well dont you, mmmm free range poached eggs sounds righteous, just pepper, no saline on mine please.
within is no need for an egg poacher you of late need a tub
We used to hold an egg-poacher. Same as your experience, the only agency we could use it was to imbue it was to poach the eggs surrounded by melted butter. Didn't stick but sort of defeat the purpose of the low-cal poached egg :) Try that non-stick spray stuff. That might work.
I loved the first answer, "beat me". You are leaving them surrounded by too long, it's that simple!
Maybe a sunken layer of shortening would be better.

I muse they are nice to have if you want to form a sandwich with an English muffin. The shape of the egg fits other on the muffin if it is cooked with an egg poacher.
it is something that did need to be used years ago basis there be no nonstick pans,,,, but it keep the eggs together
I agree next to you, egg poachers are useless, about much use as men (and I am one). I do as you do, but crack my egg within a ladle and later hold this is a pan of boiling marine until it begins to set next gently remove the dip. This keeps the egg together, and repeat. Remember to wipe them on kitchen paper to remove excess sea.
They gross the egg prettier, however you need to be using authentic butter instead of oil. Finner ingestion establishments use them so the egg is uniform, looks more pleasing to the eye, and they can charge you much more. I have have success near mine, but when it is just me I still in recent times boil in marine and scoop them out near a big spoon.
I other put a little butter contained by the cups ( not margarine as butter is yes people influence fattening, but it is natural and your body can digest it.) When I verbs my egg-poacher cups I have to soak them and use a scratchy wad too. But if you have another bearing that works for you go for it. ( I don't thought for mine done in the sea some people serve up the hose down too.)
I bet you can't sprinkle saline and pepper on your eggs ..if you boiling them in dampen ..
For a start you are doing it wrong ..
first boil your water and allow 20 second for the butter to melt surrounded by the cups (not olive oil) oliv oil is moral when you are frying your eggs ..then break your eggs affix your salt and pepper close the lid and Weight until cooked the mode you like them ..i utter them because i have 3 at time ..
if you are using cheap poacher resembling aluminium ..it wont work it will always stick ..return with a good one covered contained by Teflon like black ..your eggs will never stick to the cup..pious luck
I get one from Lakeland. I put a tiny bit of butter in respectively cup and use my pastry brush to cover the cup when the butter's melted. My eggs never stick!
I agree. My mother used one though & she never had the problem. Perhaps it desires breaking in?
if you put a little butter or marge surrounded by the egg poacher cups and let it unfreeze, then when you put your eggs contained by the poacher they shouldn't stick
