Amish Friendship Bread?


Can you use 2% or skim Milk for the friendship bread starter? Or does it enjoy to be complete milk.

The Recipe
Yield:
(Makes 2 loaves)


1 cup starter (see below for starter recipe) surrounded by a chalice jar or ziploc case at room temp (do not refrigerate throughout entire recipe--it's supposed to ferment so don't put your muzzle too close any!
Day 1 - Do nought
Day 2 - Do nil
Day 3 - Put starter within cup or stoneware bowl (or life-size ziploc bag) do not use metal bowls or spoons.
Day 4 - Do nought
Day 5 - Do zilch
Day 6 - To starter, add on: 1 cup milk, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, stir near wooden spoon (if surrounded by ziploc daypack, smoosh and squish until mixed)
Day 7 - Do zilch
Day 8 - Stir near wooden spoon (or smoosh and squish)
Day 9 - Do nil
Day 10 - Add: 1 cup milk, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour-stir in good health.
Take 3 portions (1 cup each) and put into ziploc baggies or chalice jar and afford to friends next to recipe.
To remaining starter, supply 1 cup grease, 1/2 cup milk, 3 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla.
Stir economically.
In separate bowl, combine 2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1.5 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp saline, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 cup chopped nuts (optional), and 1 full-size or 2 dmall pkgs of vanilla
Pudding mix (instant kind).
Add flour mixture to raining mixture, stirring very well next to wooden spoon.
Pour into 2 ample loaf pan, greased, floured and sprinkled near cinnamon & Sugar.
Sprinkle cinnamon & Sugar on top also.
Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out verbs.
VARIATIONS:


Substitute equal parts mash bananas or applesauce for up to 1/2 the grease.
Use lemon or banana pudding (and lemon or almond extract) surrounded by place of vanilla.
Comments
I hold used lowfat milk, applesauce contained by place of 1/2 grease, and cut down on some of the final day's sugar to come up near a "Healthier" Version (little to no difference contained by weakness or texture!) Use your imagination!

AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD & STARTER

FRIENDSHIP STARTER
1 c Sugar
1 c Flour
1 c Milk
BREAD
1 c Friendship Starter
2/3 c Oil
3 Eggs
2 c Flour
2 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. Baking soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 c Sugar
FRIENDSHIP STARTER DIRECTIONS:
Day 1: Make the starter dough using 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, and 1 cup milk. Stir the mixture. Do not use metal spoons or mixers. Use a chalice or plastic bowl. Cover the bowl loosely near a thesis towel, cloth, wax rag or plastic wrap. Do not refrigerate the mixture. Keep at room warmth.
Days 2,3,4: Stir the mixture down once respectively sunshine near a wooden or plastic spoon.
Day 5: Add 1 cup respectively of sugar, flour and milk. Stir.
Days 6,7,8,9: Stir once respectively morning.
Day 10: Add 1 cup respectively of sugar, flour and milk. Remove 3 cups of the mixture and distribute 1 cup respectively to three friends to take home Amish Friendship Bread.
BREAD: Mix adjectives the ingredients resourcefully beside a wooden spoon. Pour into 2 well-greased and sugared bread loaf pan. Bake at 350 degree for 40-45 minutes. This freezes vastly economically. Great to dispense as a offering.
NOTE: Raisins, chopped apples, drained crushed pineapple, date, chopped nuts or chocolate chips may be added to the batter earlier pouring into the pan. Use 3/4 cup of doesn`t matter what you desire to give.
