What liberal of frosting do you put on German chocolate cake?

Answers:
It's supposed to be a coconut/pecan topping, a bit than a frosting. (It's something you *pile* resting on the cake, a bit than spread sparingly.)

German Chocolate Cake Topping

1 c. evaporated milk
2/3 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. butter
1 3/4 c. coconut
1 1/3 c. chopped pecans

Mix milk, sugar, and butter surrounded by a pot. Bring to a boil. Add coconut and pecans. This make plenty for a 9x13" cake.

Other Answers:

It's a coconut icing
