I own some apricots that aren't that great a texture and I want to stew them, or something similar to it...?

I remember an old friend of mine used to put them contained by a crock pot and maybe attach a few ingredients (spices and sugar?) and then they'd devour them that way. It help enhance the flavour and the texture, being soft, be much better, in my judgment. Does anybody have a recipe to do this?

Answers:
one of the customers at my position said if you take one of them and put an almond within the middle and it tastes close to a cookie (don't know if u can trust that tho) but one said if the whole leathery wierd texture bugs u receive a wet towel and put it over em. leave it overnight and consequently remove it and drain the water sour. it rehydrated them and makes them not so leathery. ugh, i loathe that leathery feeling.
