Okay I am getting a Canister Set from Target this weekend for my kitchen for it to be more organized. I think Flour go in the biggest one, and Sugar contained by the next size, am I right within this? And what is supposed to go contained by the next 2 canister? Thanks!
Answers:
Teabags, coffee.
I don't put anything in mine because they don't give the impression of being to keep a perfect seal. Mine are a moment ago 'on display' but best of luck to you.
i always put pasta noodles surrounded by mine
I have baking soda contained by one and salt contained by the other.
you got the flour and sugar right.I really dont know
I budge by what my grandmother and mother put
in theirs so I could be course wrong.
In the olden days when I was young at heart it was coffee and tea oodles, in that lay down, according to size. You can put whatever you want surrounded by them, nobody is going to come over and make sure you enjoy your canister ingredients correct :).
Coffee and tea
You are right flour goes into the biggest on ,, sugar contained by the next size next coffee then tea But if you don't use coffee or tea put doesn`t matter what you use in them Pasta noodles, cookies crackers etc...
contained by order of biggest to smallest:
flour
sugar
cant remember (i dont even use mine)
tea (i own kool-aid in mine)
Flour
Coffee
Tea
Sugar
That be the original purpose for canister.
However, now you can hold on to whatever you use on a regular proof in the canister.
Have fun!
It's your kitchen put what you want in them. What ever is better for you .
Nothing is "supposed" to move about in them. You put anything you use the most.
When I was contained by my baking mode, flour, sugar and cocoa.
When I was within my coffee mode, coffee beans, vanilla sugar and cocoa.
Now, it's oatmeal, pasta, and coffee.
I use big jars next to screw on lids for my flours, tea stacks, sugar etc. It keeps them really fresh. I get a couple of jars from K-Mart (Martha Stewart line) and the others are antiquated pickle jars. Works great.
Typically they are labeled Flour, Sugar, Coffee and Tea.
Put anything is practical in your canister set.
They should be chock-full with items you are most predictable to use on a daily/weekly basis.
There are no Canister Police -- so you can jump crazy.
You're right, Flour would go contained by the largest -- makes it easier to contain the contents of the flour shoulder bag, and makes it easier to judge it out.
Other ideas -- Sugar, Rice, Popcorn, Dry Beans, Cookies, Coffee (although I use a more air-tight canister, placed within the Fridge for my coffee -- stays fresher longer)
I also do a bit of baking, with recipe calling for brown sugar -- I use 1 for light brown sugar, and 1 for overcast brown sugar.
I also put a small piece of bread in these 2 canister to keep the brown sugar from harden up.
