I close to to use flour sifters. They're restrained consignment, juice and small particle can't attain through, but bigger pieces resembling vanilla bean don't.

Youre best bet is to use a strainer, unless your colander have TINY holes, later possibly you could use that. But dont throw away the pod when youre done beside it! Bury it (and a few others) within a container of sugar for a few weeks and youll hold vanilla infused sugar! Perfect for creme brulee! YUM!
