How long do you cook a 6 lb (not pre cooked )ham?

need answer today, june 4 2007

It really depends on the type of ham, i.e. smoked, fresh, and whether or not nearby is a bone in or not, here is a interconnect to a site re: cooking times for ham:

If you are in the UK here is a knit for instructions there:

Hope I help some, good luck!
6 hours at 275 degree F
You need to plan on at least possible 20 minutes per pound, so consider 3 hours at 325 degrees.
Depends on the dish you are making and the method you are using to cook.

But if you are asking lately how long it takes to become "germ safe" next the answer is 30 minutes medium high-ranking heat stovetop, 350 C contained by the oven for 30 minutes.

Hope this helps. If you say-so what dish you are making then I can assist a little bit more.
I am going to influence 30-45 minutes on 350, but it really depends on the methods and recipes you are using.

ASK THE BUTCHER where on earth you bought the ham...

I thought to be a "ham" it had to be a smoked cut of pork roast.which would imply it's cooked. But you can still bake it near glaze or stuff close to brown sugar, pineapple rings, etc. if you want to serve it warm.

Just don't over cook or it will be dry.
the best process to cook that ham is to put it on a pine board, wrap it in foil put within a oven on 350 degrees for 11/2 hours pilfer it out and let rest for 20mins unwrap the foil put the ham within the garbage an chomp through the board. ihaven't eaten any pork or shell fish since 1991, i am over 300 lbs no clogged arteries blood preassure is fine and cholesterol is 175. picture that.
I am not sure if your talking more or less a ham or a roast. Ham is ready to drink. You can cook it or not. Pork roast on the other hand is unprepared. The yard stick is 30 min. per pound. Pork should be white adjectives the way though. No pink or red. But don't over cook it. It will dry out. Check it habitually. Good luck.
