Why does diet coke lose it's fizz when you put your finger contained by it?

Answer:
Because your finger is dirty.
Keep your finger out of my Coke. It probably have something to do with your oil but I'm no chemist.
I'm not sure, but it probably have to do with the deficit of nucleation sites on your finger. Carbon dioxide gas is dissolved in the soda, and when it encounter a solid object next to tiny holes and pits the gas will come out of solution and create a fizz. Or it could also be that your finger has a ton of nucleation sites (pores on your skin) and it is absorbing the carbon dioxide. I regard this is a question for Mythbusters.
Oh Man - That made me think of my Aunt ~when I be little and she would pore some soda pop (soda) in a chalice, she would always stick her ruthless finger in our chalice to get the fizz down! YUCK! ok get that out-

I believe it may have to do next to your skin having instinctive salts surrounded by it! Seems like the right answer~ better afterwards thinking it was other her dirty finger!
