Many years ago we used gunpowder to treat dogs beside distemper. I be curious, , and did not close to giving an unknown body to my animals, so I sample it (gingerly) myself. I discovered gunpowder to morsel sharp and peppery, near a uncompromising metallic flavor.

Well, individually I've never tried it and can't voice that I would any. To me I would reckon it be toxic and it really capably may be. In those days, they wouldn't enjoy set this.
