I have a pop corn designer that you pour a couple spoon fulls of olive oil beside the pop corn, then put in butter when its done. I was wondering, can I cook the popcorn next to butter instead of olive oil? I lately think that might savour better, and it might get the pop corn a more butterful flavor

You shouldn't for the same rationale that you shouldn't use extra virgin olive oil. The smoke point is too low. You could use plain olive grease or clarified butter. Clarified butter: melt the butter and pour rotten the solids or sediment. The clear butter has a high incendiary point.
Meaning the oil get really nice and hot to burst the kernels. The butter and extra virgin olive grease will start to smoke and the solids in the unclarified butter will start to burn until that time it gets hot adequate to pop the kernels.
You can but use enought to cover the kernals or you'll get adjectives popcorn
mix the olive grease and butter, in the industry we used coconut butter, but I don't know if that is to say recommended health clever.
