At 18 you can serve food and drinks in a handrail as long as the place serves both. But when the restaurant closes the bar is restricted to 21 and over. You can serve drinks but are not aloud to hold unrestricted access to alcohol

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that if you are working in a RESTAURANT that serves alcohol, you can be permitted to serve food lone. If it's a bar, no. The volume of alcohol sale as a per centage of total sales determines if a place is a tavern or restaurant. I think.

I believe that in California, if you are lower than the age of 21, you can only serve alcohol to be precise in a hermetically sealed container.
