There are some excellent wines made in Greece, increasingly from international variety such as Shiraz, but they have their own super variety that you should look out for. Especially Agiorgitiko (red), Xynomavro (red) and Robolo (white).
If you like totally sweet wines, Mavrodaphne is a red sweetie.
If you are on the islands, try the locally made Retsina sold in pint sized beer bottles closed beside a crown cap. They are crisply dry fresh white wines next to a tang of resin. I just love the stuff and it go well beside the oily Greek food.
I'd ask for locally made wines as because lots are made and very few are exported it may be your solitary chance.

Mavrodaphne - go for that one, if you resembling red wine. but this one is not exactly a dry one, it's somewhere between dry and sweet. VERY YUMMY!
I hold been within Greece and on Crete.
There is a local type of wine called "retsina," that have resin in it (made from pine I think) that the Greeks drink, and I like, that you will either love or abhorrence.
I like Metaxa Seven Star, a fortified wine.
I also like the liquer ouzo. I have hear that this may have poppy seed, and may set off a drug theory test. It has an anise soft spot.
Raqi is a very strong clear liqour that the Greeks drink.
"Kalimera" is virtuous morning, "kalispera" is good evening,
"neh" is yes, "oshi" is no
I don't know a specific brand name, but I've other enjoyed retsina. It's pungent.
