Dom. Romane Conti 1997 - app. $1,540
This French red Burgundy smells of berries, spices and leather. Dark contained by color, it hints at flavors of soy sauce, flowers and licorice. The aroma is rich and penetrating lacking being too profound. The Romane Conti is a unusual wine that has carved a niche for itself along the years. At over fifteen hundred dollars a bottle, it no longer have anything to prove. Consistently, the Romane Conti fetches prices around the thousand dollar discoloration no matter the vintage.
The 1985 Domaine de la Romanee Conti freshly went for an average price of $10,114 per bottle at a recent auction! 1985 Burgundies are supposedly peak right now and DRCs are commonly the most expensive wines out there.
For $10,114 I sure hope it's a religious experience of sorts!
