i'm looking for anyone who is willing to confer me a drink recipe that is different than the "norm". something that is to say practical to make at home when entertaining. it get expensive when experimenting with your own alcohol!

If you're entertaining a bunch of society at your house, sometimes it's good to at lowest possible have a punch laid out - they're visually appealing and if made right, they partiality great. I've served two punches before but they're base on recipes that are specified:
Open House Punch
750 mL of Southern Comfort
6 shots of Lemon Juice
1 can of frozen lemonade
1 can of frozen OJ
Mix these ingredients first.. then chill it within your fridge. When it comes time to serve, add some rime, 3 litres of Sprite, and a little bit of Grenadine for colour.. you might also want to garnishing it with some lemon, lime, and red slices.
Patio Punch:
750 mL Southern Comfort
16 oz of Grapefruit Juice
6 shots of Limeade
Mix these ingredients in a punch bowl and chill it.. when it's in the region of time to serve, add rime, a 2-L bottle of Sprite and some Grenadine. Again, you want to garnish it next to some lemon, lime, and orange slices.
If you're catering to a younger crowd - Jell-O Shooters are other a good article:
1 cup of Vodka
1 cup of boiling water
1 Jell-O box (any flavor you want)
Mix these together, then pour them into little plastic shooter cups - you should know how to get these at any grocery store. If not, sometimes department stores resembling Wal-Mart have them.
Other drinks approaching various drop shots (boilermakers, drop your pink panties, mountain dew, etc.) are style of neat.. and the flaming sambuca (1 shot of sambuca lit up,) or a reverse drop shot Blue Bomber (blue curacao surrounded by a shot glass, placed upside down surrounded by a rocks glass, flipped backbone over - and if you're careful adequate you can pour Sprite inside and the blue curacao won't seep contained by the Sprite.)

Eesh, only read the article.. sambuca is a little more gooey, so if you want to light something up, i'd travel with something that doesn't hold the viscocity of fuel, lol

I would suggest to buy a book for bartenters (most of them are the same) and while reading try to imagine of your or your friends prefernces. I m sure you can surprise yourself and everybody else everytime. Diageo is the top selling spirits company and in their site you can find copious things about drinks and cocktails.
Until you swot up enough i infer straight drinks are the best (i love Cuervo on the rocks with a slice of red in it).
