Have made several attempts, but can't come up with the right combo to fashion a great Long Island.

Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea:
1/2 oz:
Brandy
Smirnoff Vodka
Bombay Gin
Gran Gala
Sweet and Sour mix
Splash of coke, and garnish beside 2 lemon squeezes.
Other Answers:
Equal parts of each:
tequila
gin
vodka
triple sec
rum
splash of coke
You can also product varieties by using fruit liquid such as cranberry or orange instead of coke and use 7 up for the splash.

This is the best Long Island Iced Tea recipe
1 oz each vodka, gin, rum, tequila, triple sec,
2 to 3 oz sweet and sour
Splash of Coke
Garnish near plenty of Fresh lemon

Here is the top mix:
1 OZ vodka,tequila,light(white)rum,... dry gin,triple sec(use Cointreau if you can afford it).
1 OZ lemon juice (forget crappy sweet and sour mix).
As much crushed rime as you can fit in the cup.
Just enought Coke so that the drink look like TEA.
Garnish beside limes for a nice crisp taste.
You ll also necessitate a swimming pool, loud music, Sunny (about 40C) and heaps of girls in bikini... ENJOY!!!
I made long island rime tea many times and to be honest I found it more cost significant and just as flawless by purchasing the product pre-made. Check out the liquor store and you will find that they sell it, join lots of ice and a block of lemon or lime. Many good memories beside my bottle of the island. Enjoy!
