Cognac is a grape brandy produced contained by the reigon of Cognac, France. By law surrounded by France (Appellation d'Origine Contr^olée), only brandy produced contained by Cognac can be called Cognac.
The grades include:
* VS (Very Special) or *** (three stars), where on earth the youngest brandy is stored at least two years contained by cask.
* VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale), Réserve, where the youngest brandy is stored at tiniest four years in cask.
* XO (Extra Old), Napoléon, Hors d'Age, where on earth the youngest brandy is stored at least six years contained by cask.
More traditional cognac houses do not use these grades.
