How can I find vastly smooth red wines ?

I need to find well-mannered Merlot and Cabernet wines. No oak taste, freshly smooth.

Sometimes the label will detail you if a wine is oaked or unoaked. Also ask the person doing the selling and see if within is tasting available.
Chile have some very smooth wines as does Austrailia. In adding up to Merlot's and Cabs you may also like to consider a Shiraz.

A wine with smaller quantity tannins that is a buoyant bodied or medium bodied wine.
Try older vintage. The tannins will be more mellow.
Oak isn't the conflicting of smooth. Tannins can create a non-smooth feel. Try some Chilean Merlots and some Syrahs. Unless you are spending some money on Cabs, you won't approaching them. Montes and Cycles Gladiator both have pretty angelic syrahs that you might want to try. Smooth but spicy.
