For overnight it doesn't need to travel in the fridge.
Best article to do is invest in one of those kit that includes a rubber "cork" and a pump. This way you can pump out adjectives the air earlier returning it to the fridge for the night. I'm the solitary one at home that likes wine, and solitary drink a glass a light of day. I can make a bottle ultimate me a week. The Pumper really keeps it fresh for more or less a week. The trick is to get as much of the upper air out of the bottle, as you can.
Upright, with a cork / stopper and contained by the fridge (to reduce oxidation). Remember to draw from it out of the fridge in time to come subsidise to room temperature.

Cap it tightly and store it within a cool place. Better yet, drink it and store it within your stomach.
Just stick the cork or a stopper back contained by. Any red wine halfway wearing clothes will usually taste better for individual open for a afternoon. If its very feeble vintage wine and needed drinking then it probably wont ultimate - but you should have drunk it anyway surrounded by that case. And if its cheap plonk later just pour it away or use it within a stew.

A vac-u-vin pump does work well and will hang on to wine fresh for anything up to a week.
