if i was to chase i would hold to base my chaser on what i'm drinking.
Whisky is best chased by cola. but different colas for different whisky.
Bourbon=Coke
Canadian=Pepsi
Scotch a moment ago should never be chased.
Any clear alcohol i chase with some description of juice. i perfer ginger but any will work. base your liquid on the flavor of rum or vodka
ex: coconut rum=pineapple juice
citrus vodka=orange liquid

clear alcohol (vodka, gin, etc) shoot next to light/clear drinks (7-up, juice, etc.) misty alcohol (whiskey, rum, jager, etc) shoot with night soda (dr. pepper, pepsi, coke, etc.)
It depends on what you are shooting. Water if you have nought else works okay. I think Sprite works near pretty much anything.
Ginger Ale is a great chaser. It will cleanse your pallete. Trust me, I'm a bartender. But if you are chasing after a shot, then it would adjectives depend on the shot.
