Falesco 2004 Vitiano
A blend of equal parts Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese grapes grown within the region of Umbria. Vitiano is vinified in stainless steel tank and aged in Nevers barrels for 3 months previously being bottled. This is a infantile red wine with explosive, luscious aromas. The wine have a wonderful deep, ruby red color next to a wide array of organoleptic qualities. It is rich within polyphenols and balanced tang. This versatile red is at it's best within its youth when the fresh fruit character is most adjectives. Vitiano is a perennial value.
I cogitate a Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio makes a nice contribution. You can usually find it for just underneath $20 a bottle and it's a very drinkable wine.

If you know he drinks beer, why not get him a specialty brew close to Alaskan Amber or an IPA. He may not even like wine...he would probably appreciate the thought of the beer however. Just turn to any liquor store and ask about the specialty brews.
